- Stoop, George J.George J. Stoop, of Freedom, age 85, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at Parks ide Care Center, Little Chute. He was born April 18, 1920 in Kaukauna, t he son of the late John and Catherine (Weyenberg) Stoop. George attended s chool in Little Chute and Appleton. In January of 1942 he enlisted in t he Air Force for four years, serving a year in Africa and 1 year in Ital y. He served at Camp Grant, Illinois, Jefferson Barricks in Missouri, Will iams Air Force Field in Texas and Camp Shanks in New York. George was hono rably discharged as a Sergeant. He married Dolores B. Sasnowski on Octob er 21, 1950 in Freedom. George and Dolores retired from farming in 198 5. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kaukauna.George is survived by, his wife, Dolores Stoop; his son, Michael (Jenni e) Stoop; two daughters, Kathryn (Louis) Baumgartner and Donna (Stephan) M eitner; grandchildren, Michelle and Matthew Stoop; Melissa, Darlene, Eliza beth, Richard, Daniel and Terrence Baumgartner; Mandy and Nathan Meitne r; step-grandchildren, Shannon, Stephanie and Shane (Jessica) Meitner; ste p-great-grandchildren, Keenan, MacKenzie and Gavin. He is further surviv ed by, a brother, Peter (Verdelle) Stoop; a sister, Marie Woods; and broth er-in-law, Carl Kieffer.George was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Georgiana Kieffer; a nd brother-in-law, Earl Woods.The funeral service for George will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, No v. 16, 2005 at FARGO FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Melinda L. Feller officiatin g. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
