- Doctor John G. Russo, a lifelong resident of Kaukauna, Wis., passed away peacefully on Nov. 14, 2009, at the St. Paul Home with his family by his side. Doctor John was born Oct. 6, 1911. John was the Superintendent and Medical Director of Riverview Sanatorium in Little Chute. He treated tuberculosis patients for over 30 years and later transformed the facility to a geriatric hospital. During that time he was the Radiologist of Kaukauna Community Hospital. He served his patients with devotion. He was the Medical Director of Secura Life Insurance for 15 years.
He was involved in many civic and community activities while he practiced medicine in the Valley for over 50 years. Opera and golf were his passions.
John is survived by Dr. Gregory (Linda) Russo, Appleton; Giovanna (John) Feller, Kaukauna; and John J. Russo, Kaukauna. John is further survived by grandchildren, Paul (Laura) Russo, Lincolnshire, Ill.; Amie Russo and Brad Choate, Lakemoor, Ill.; Nickolo, Mario and Bennito Russo, Appleton; great-grandchildren, Pia, Meghan and Camille Russo, Lincolnshire, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pia.
Per John's wishes, a private family service will be held and a Memorial Service at a later date.

Doctor John G. Russo, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2009, at the St. Paul Home. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Holy Cross Parish, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy Officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The family will also greet friends immediately after the service at the church.
