- Kenneth P. Meulemans, 77, Denver, Colo., originally of Wrightstown, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. Ken graduated from St. Paul's Catholic School and the Wrightstown High School. He was on the school's first football team in 1946 to 1947. After five years in the Air Force Ken returned to Wisconsin with his family and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with both a Bachelors' and Master degrees. He worked for Wisconsin Bell and Mountain Bell for 29 years and after retirement continued his pursuit of a PhD at the University of Denver. He was an active member of the Optimist Club for 23 years serving in many leadership roles. Ken's first love was always family, both near and far.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; sons, Anthony (Gail), Tennessee; Steven (Celina), Florida; James (Jennifer), Wisconsin; and stepdaughters, Denise Cornell, D.C.; and Deborah (Tim) Hester, Denver; his sister, Dorothy Biese, Wisconsin; and brothers, Gerald (Dory), Wisconsin; and Roy (Bonnie) Meulemans, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marion Meulemans, son, Michael and brothers, Donald, Vince and Arlyn Meulemans.
A celebration of Ken's life will be on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, starting with a luncheon in the church hall at 5:30 p.m., followed by a memorial Mass at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Carl Meulemans officiating and the Rev. Robert Vandehey concelebrating. DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown is assisting the family with arrangements.
