- John H. Weyenberg "Jack", age 66, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, S eptember 20, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer.He was born March 15, 1932 at Kimberly, the son of the late John T. a nd Bertha (Groen) Weyenberg. He had attended Kimberly schools.He had enlisted in the Marines and served with the 1st. Marine Divisi on in the Korean War. He was married on December 19, 1964, in Chicag o, to Mary Gerhartz. Following marriage, the couple had resided in Stock bridge. Jack worked as a superintendent at the Kimberly paper Mill f or 45 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed deer hunting and sturgeon speari ng and was an avid sportsfan. He was a member of the Kimberly American Leg ion Post 60. He was also a member at St.Mary's Catholic Church in Stockbri dge. Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Weyenberg, and Nicky Bangart, Stoc kbridge, three stepdaughters and two stepsons-in-law, Peggy Moehn, Debb ie (Gary) Zahringer and Jan (Roman) Kappus, all of Stockbridge, two stepso ns and a step daughter-in-law, Thomas Thiel of Darboy and Terry (Tammy) Th iel of Stockbridge, 17 grandchildren, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan ice (Bob) Olive, Tucson, Ariz. And Joan (Don) Osterberg, Iron Mt. Michiga n, his wifes family, including sisters-in-law Mrs. Larry (Maxine) Monk in of Concord, Calif., Sally Mischler and Mrs. Eugene (Chris) Funk, a ll of Stockbridge, and brothers-in-law Jim Gerhartz, Gretna, La., Pet er Gerhartz, Longmont, Colo., Glenn (Diane) Gerhartz, Phoenix, Ariz., a nd Ed (Gen) Gerhartz, Kimberly, a special friend Rob Moon, also several n ieces and nephews, friends, and co-workers at InterLake Papers. He was pre ceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary and a grandson Tyler.John died 20 sep.1998 in Stockbridge, Calumet Co. and he was buried at Ho ly Name Cemetery in Kimberly.
