  New Holstein - Anton Lodes, 71, of this city, passed away Thursday at the St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been confined for the past three weeks. He was born October 15, 1870, at Charlesburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Lodes, and was married to Miss Regina Wendling of Belgium, Ozaukee County, on Feb, 20, 1900, the ceremony being performed at Chilton. The couple resided on a farm north of Chilton until 1938 and then moved to a farm west of New Holstein. Since May 1, 1940 they have resided on Illinois Avenue, New Holstein. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's church in Chilton. Survivors are his wife and eight children, Mrs. Hugo (Catherine) Wagner of Cleveland, Wis., (Leona) Sister Anysia of St. Joseph's convent, Milwaukee, Miss Theresa Lodes of New Holstein, Arthur of Waukesha, Hubert and George of New Holstein, Norbert of Chilton, and William of Stockbridge; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Joseph of Charlesburg, and a sister, Mrs. Mike Wieseckle of Elkhart Lake.
