- James F. Rausch, Kaukauna, age 70, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 14, 2008. James was born July 5, 1938, to the late Frank and Wilma (Luedtke) Rausch. He married Joan A. Ploetz on December 26, 1959, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna. James was a highly skilled basketball player throughout his high school and post-high school years. He was a loyal Kaukauna Ghost, Packer, and Cubbies fan. James enjoyed visiting his son in Florida and he cherished the time spent with family, especially his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Robyn (Richard) Trilling, Jim Rausch and daughter-in-law, Tammy Rausch, his three grandchildren, Chad Rausch and Joshua & Amber Trilling. He will also be missed by two brothers-in-law, Gene Ploetz and Pahl (Ann) Ploetz; two sisters-in-law, Carla (Bruce) Kobs and Carol Rausch; his nieces and nephews Jennifer, Jason & Justin Kobs, Pahla, Kelly and Payton Ploetz and Amy & Tony Rausch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan in 2006, his son Randy in 2006, his brother Dave Rausch in 2007, his sister Carole Passantino in 1998, and sister-in-law Micki Ploetz in 2006.
A Memorial Service for James will be held at 4 p.m. Friday September 19, 2008, at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 124 West 10th Street, Kaukauna, with Rev. Walt Steinbach officiating. Friends may call directly on Friday 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
