- Vanevenhoven, Bruce J. Combined LocksAge 60, died peacefully Friday, September 6, 2002 at home with his fami ly by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Dece mber 29, 1941 in Appleton, son of Wilfred and Louise (Marsch) Vanevenhove n. On June 23, 1962 he married the former Nancy Jansen at St. John Cathol ic Church, Little Chute. The couple celebrated 40 years of marriage togeth er and resided in Combined Locks for the past 31 years. Bruce was employ ed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper, recently retiring after almost 41 yea rs of service. Bruce raised five sons and put his children first, sendi ng them all through college. His pride and joy was his one and only grandc hild, Kailey, who was a blessing to the family. Bruce had a distinctive la ugh and could be easily recognized in a crowd. If you needed a shoulder, a dvice or something fixed...he was there. He was an avid Packer fan and enj oyed Country music and spending time with his family. Bruce was a memb er of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks, and the Thilmany Quarter C entury Club. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy, Combined Locks; fi ve sons and two daughters-in-law: Troy (fiancee Lori Gettendorf), Menash a; Brad (Delisa), Arvada, Colorado; Todd (Danielle), Jody (girlfriend Kat ie Walbrandt); Ryan (fiancee Amy Lamers), all of Combined Locks; a grandda ughter, Kailey Amber; his mother, Louise Vanevenhoven, Menasha; a broth er and sister-in-law, Gary (Mary) Vanevenhoven, Appleton; three sisters a nd two brothers-in-law: Darlene (Tim) VandeHey, Wrightstown; Sandy (Michae l) Coffey, Kaukauna; Mary Gast (fiancee Rick Babler), Appleton; numerous n ieces and nephews. He is further survived by his wife's family: Grace Jans en, Katie (Marty) Marasch, all of Little Chute; Linda (Jim) Gibson, Char ( Jim) Bricco, Steve (Diane) Jansen, all of Appleton; Cindy (Mark) Verhage n, Julie (Bruce) Verhagen, all of Little Chute. He was preceded in dea th by his father, Wilfred and father-in-law, Richard Jansen. Funeral servi ces will be at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks w ith Father Robert Vandenberg officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. F riends may call directly at the church from 2 p.m. Monday until the ti me of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been establish ed in his name. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the f amily.
