  WAYNE HOFFMANThe funeral will be held May 8 for Wayne Ellsworth Hoffman of Eugene, w ho died May 3 of cancer. He was 68. Hoffman was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Po rtland to Ellsworth ansd Sadie Hoffman. He moved to Eugene in 1940. Aft er graduating from high school, he served in the army.Hoffman and his wife, Darlene, were married in Ellensburg, Wash., on Ju ne 3, 1954. A backhoe operator, Hoffman owned Hoffman's Custom Digging. H is interets included fishing, deer and elk hunting, gardening and playi ng cards. He was a member of the Eugene Eagles.Survivors include his wife; a son Darrell of Eugene, and two half brother s, Gary Irvin of Eugene and Dale Irvin of Cottage Grove. Visitation wi ll be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Frid ay at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Friday's funeral is at 1 p. m. at River Road Church of Christ in Eugene. A graveside service wi ll be at 3 p.m. at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Memorial contributi ons may be made to the American Cancer Society.
