He was born November 12, 1911, in Wrightstown. Dad enjo yed the outdoors and spent much time gardening, landscaping, fishing, hunt ing, and was a man of many talents. He was a great teacher and passed on m uch of his experience to his children. He was a faithful member of St. Joh n's Catholic Church in Little Chute where he lived for more than 65 year s. He was employed at the Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill for 42 years. Len w as the son of Peter and Mary (Timmers) Vande Hey. Len married Ruth Neless en on June 8, 1937, who preceded him in death in 1976. He is survived by h is eleven children and spouses: Margie and Leo Vosters, Little Chute; Vin ce and Val Vande Hey, Krakow; Phyllis and David Wereley, Shawano; Mary a nd Jim Beschta, Massachusetts; Bob and Jean Vande Hey, Hilbert; Gerald a nd Dianne Vande Hey, Kaukauna; Don and Mary Lou Vande Hey, Hortonville; R oy and Deb Vande Hey, Appleton; Vicky and Dave Gossens, Kimberly; Terry a nd Robin Van Zeeland, Kaukauna; Rebecca and Hector Esparza, California; a nd 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 15 years, Ceil Van Zeela nd Vande Hey, and her children, Paul and Arlouine Van Zeeland, Chuck a nd Sue Van Zeeland, Gary and Carole Van Zeeland, Greg and Pat Van Zeelan d, Betty Jo and Gary Hooyman, and 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchil dren.He is also preceded in death by his second wife of six years, Gina Schiede rmayer Vande Hey whose surviving children are Jim Schiedermayer and Ju dy and Bill Olson.He is also preceded in death by 15 brothers and sister s: Gertrude, Peter Jr., Wilahemia, Nicholas, Delia, Margaret, David, Cle m, Fredrick, Gordon, Isabella, Amos, Irene, Lorraine and Ernest, and fi ve in-laws, Norbert, Urban and Betty Nelessen, Bill Vosters and Ed Voster s. He is also survived by 19 in-laws: Clarence and Cecelia Nelessen, Euge ne and Bernice Nelessen, Bob and Marian Nelessen, Jim and Rita Nelessen, M arie Vosters, Eunice and Art Vosters, Dolores and Gene Van Camp, Mildred a nd Gordon Newhouse, Helen and Rich Diedrick, and Sophia and Dale Meulemans .The family extends sincere thanks to Dad's special care-givers, Debi and C indy, who loved and cared for him until his death, and the Theda Care doct ors, staff and Hospice.Visitation will take place Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at St. John's Church, Lit tle Chute, continuing on Wednesday from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by a ma ss at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established f or the benefit of St. John's Parish School from which Len and Ruth's child ren graduated.Arrangements provided by Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Litt le Chute.
