- Eva L. Plamann, age 94 of Appleton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. She was born on July 5, 1921 in the Town of Grand Chute to the late Hurbert and Gretchen (Schwalbach) Merkel. On April 27, 1946, Eva married Herbert Plamann at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Pius X and volunteered with the church mission, Eva was formerly employed with Kimberly Clark in the office with the Badger-Globe Mill. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and camping but most important to her was her family.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Herbert, nine children; Patricia (Tom) Lamon, Conover, WI, Catherine (Robert) Vondracek, Sherwood, WI, Mary Derks, Appleton, Linda (Warren) Haser, Bellville, WI, James (Linda) Plamann, Little Chute, John Plamann, Appleton, Sue Honkomp, Appleton, Thomas Plamann, Shawano, and Judy (Mark) Mattingly, Appleton. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eva is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Leona (Lawrence) Presteen and Emmaline (Cyril) Fisher, son in law, George Honkomp and granddaughters, Amy Griesbach and Josette Derks, and grandson, Joseph Derks.
A funeral mass for Eva will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
