- Ralph Raymond Marion, 61, of Stanley, died Thursday, June 28, 20 01, at Victory Medical Center in Stanley.
He was born Jan. 14, 1940, in the town of Edson, Chippewa County, the s on of Robert and Hazel (Hudson) Marion. He grew up in the area and attend ed area schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.
Ralph was united in marriage to Lois Herrick at Sacred Heart Catholic Chur ch in Edson on Nov. 9, 1969. They lived in the town of Edson where Ralph h ad worked for Presto Industries, Ara Mills and Rural Disposal Servic e. He was also a bus driver for Stanley-Boyd Schools for a number of years .
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and helping out various farmer s. But most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren, Nick, Andy, Jake, Jennife r, Charlie, Alison, Isaac and Ryan.
Ralph was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; his children, Lynn of Boyd, Lisa (Alle n) Micke of Thorp and William (Betsy) Marion of Boyd; eight grandchildre n; his mother, Hazel Marion; brothers and sisters, Jerome (Kathy) Mario n, Robert Jr. (Eileen) Marion, Dale (Betty) Marion, Deb (Jim) Lorenz and V icki (Dave) Shilts, all of Boyd, Earl (Kay) Marion, Duane (Peggy) Mario n, and Shirley (Kim) Bergman, all of Prairie Farm, Sharon (Ronnie) Michee ls and Darlene (Steve) Miller, both of Ridgeland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; nieces, nephews; and two b rothers-in-law.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Churc h, Boyd, with Father Eugene Smith officiating. Cremains will be interr ed in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanle y, and one hour prior to the service Monday. Catholic Order of Foresters w ill recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
