- Mary F. Kilsdonk, 90, Little Chute, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. She was born March 23, 1924, in Kimberly, daughter of Peter and Agnes (Ruys) Vander Wielen. She graduated from Kimberly High School, Class of 1942. On June 26, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to Norbert F. Kilsdonk. She was a long time member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, helping as a communion distributor and at many other church activities. Mary was a retreat promoter for Monte Alverno Retreat Center and was a charter member of the Little Chute Historical Society. She volunteered at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse for more than 25 years. Mary enjoyed reading and traveling, and she loved flowers, watching the birds, and little children. She was the best mom ever.
She is survived by her two sons: Frank (Elizabeth) Kilsdonk, Germantown, WI and Tom (Beverly) Kilsdonk, Sunnyvale, CA; eight daughters: Joanne (Dominic) DeLeo, Wellesley Hills, MA, Mary (Paul) Malischke, Madison, WI, Patricia (Dave) Coles, Pleasant Prairie, WI, Susan (John) Danielson, Hebron, KY, Judy (Mark) Stegman, Littleton, CO, Janet Kilsdonk, Sun Prairie, WI, Betty (Ted) DeMaria, Boulder, CO and Barbara (Nate) Thompson, DePere, WI; grandchildren: Kristina (Nate) Vack, Kathryn (Joel) Stone, Annina DeLeo, Therese Malischke, Annalise (Jordan) O'Connell, Shaula (Doug) Hutt, David (Daniella) Coles, Dani Stegman, Jacklyn Stegman, Rick Starzinski, Andrew Starzinski, Kathryn Thompson and Noah Thompson; great grandchildren: Kaetlynn, Logan, Liliana and Ada Hutt, Cora and Rosemary Vack; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruth Vander Wielen, Henry (Pearl) Vander Vielen, Joseph Van Grinsven, Dorothy (Ron) Thyssen, Mary Ann Porto, Beth Kilsdonk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Norbert on October 24, 2013; her parents; sisters: Cora Vander Wielen, Therese Rietveld, Fran Van Grinsven and Anna Rietveld; brothers: Albert and Joseph Vander Wielen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Adrian Rietveld, Raymond Rietveld, Les Kilsdonk, Ken Lenz, Edward Knight, Oswald Ritchie, Gerald Maertz, Verena Ritchie, Geraldine Maertz, Henriette Lenz and Rose Knight; a niece, Nellie Vander Wielen and a nephew, Edward Knight Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
