  Verstegen, Thomas F. "Tom"; Winneconne, WisconsinAge 83, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2002 at his home. He was born Febru ary 8, 1918 in Little Chute, Wisconsin; the son of the late Willard and He lena (Hammen) Verstegen. Tom served his country during World War II with t he U.S. Army. Tom was married to Esther (Parche) Verstegen, and she preced ed him in death in 1973. He married Artiese White in 1975 and they liv ed in Columbus, Nebraska for five years before splitting time between Flor ida and northern Wisconsin. Tom and Artiese then moved to Winneconne and h ave resided there for the past 15 years. He was an avid Green Bay Packer f an. Tom was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne and the Ameri can Legion.Tom is survived by his wife, Artiese Verstegen, Winneconne; two sons and d aughters-in-law: Bruce and Carol Verstegen, Tinton Falls, New Jersey; Bri an and Betty Verstegen, Sunnydale, California; a daughter and son-in-la w, Catherine and Ken Miller, Broomfield, Colorado; a step daughter and st ep son-in-law, Andrea and John Unewitz, Woodridge, Illinois; nine grandchi ldren: Michelle, Deborah, Jennifer, Benjamin, Kaitlin, Kelly, Leah, Lindse y, and Leslie; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Alex; and many niece s, nephews, and in-laws.Along with his parents, and first wife, Esther; Tom was preceded in dea th by an infant son, Joseph, in 1947; and four sisters and two brothers: E ileen Verstegen, Merlin "Spike" Verstegen, Barbara Lingl, Jerry Verstege n, Grace Revoir, and Margaret Schlack.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2002 at 11:00 a. m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne with the Rev. LeRoy Smet offici ating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Columbus Cemete ry in Columbus, Nebraska. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Janua ry 9, 2002 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home, Winnecon ne where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will conti nue on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.Mueller Funeral Home 904 E.
