- Magdalen C. Eiting Hollandtown, 95, passed away on Holy Thursday. (3/24/2005) She was born in Wrightstown on November 26, 1909, the fifth chi ld of the late Martin and Mary (Nelesson) Nackers. She had 4 brothers a nd 8 sisters. She attended St. Paul Grade School and then went to work at Wymelenberg's Dry Goods Store in Wrightstown for 7 years. On July 31, 1933 she married Elmer Eiting and moved to Hollandtown, together they h ad six children. When Elmer died in 1947, , she went back to work; this time at Van Abel's as a cook and worked there almost 40 years. Mag was Secretary/Treasurer of the Hollandtown Branch 103 of the Catholic Knights for 47 years and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. She has always enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bowling, working in her garden and going for 'little rides' with her daughters.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob (Judy) Eiting, Kaukauna, Dick (Betty) Eiting, Hollandtown, two daughter and three sons-in-law, Rosemary (Jack) Berghuis, Hilbert, Alice (Mike) Jansse Little Chute and Cliff Feldkamp, Hollandtown. She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, a sister Jane Vande Hey, Kaukauna, three sisters-in-law, Tuddie and Joyce Nackers, Wrightstown and Charlotte Lehman, Kaukauna, numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family, all of the Van Abel?s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice and Ray Van Zeeland and Helen ?Butchie? Feldkamp, seven sisters and four brothers.
Magdalen's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Hollandtown with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna and again on Tuesday at Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 pm Monday to conclude the evening.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
The family thanks everyone who did so much for Mother through the years, especially Will and Don Van Abel and their families. Special thanks also to Fr. Dave, Sister Dorothy and their wonderful staff at the St. Paul Home for the compassionate, loving care you have given Mother and our family. You truly are special people.
