  Sister Sara Hale, age 71, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Sunday evening, April 4, 2010, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. The former Dorothy Hale was born on December 10, 1938, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John W. and Sarah (Vogel) Hale. She entered the Convent in 1953 and professed her vows in 1958. Sister Sara earned a Bachelor Arts from Holy Family College and a Masters in Administration from University of California. Sister Sara was a principal/teacher at Pius X and St. Bernard, Appleton, St. Michael, Whitelaw, Holy Innocents, Manitowoc, St. Edward, Mackville, St. Joseph, Waukesha, Wisconsin; Guardian Angels, West Point, Nebraska; St. Peter & Paul, Wellston, Ohio. Since 1992, she coordinated Joseph's Coat and Holy Angels Thrift Center, Also, she was the director of Angels Outreach, Chicago, Illinois. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Allan and Virginia Hale, Green Bay; Thomas and Sandra Hale, Reedsburg, WI; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Sarah E. Joyce (deceased William Joyce), Kaukauna; Martha and James Gorzlancyk, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives survive. Also, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sister Mary Hale, O.S.F. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
