- Evelyn A. Peters-Burns, 97, Bellevue, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011. She was born July 15, 1913, to the late Frank and Emma (Snell) Schroeder in Seymour, Wis. On Nov. 27, 1938, she married Melvin Peters in Seymour; he preceded her in death. On Nov. 1, 2003, she married William Burns at First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay.
Evelyn was co-valedictorian of her high school class at Seymour High School. She attended Oshkosh Business School. She loved to travel, to do rosemaling painting, was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family at the lake. She was an avid Packers fan and had been employed by St. Mary's Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her husband, William Burns; two sons, William (Eileen) Peters, Two Rivers, and Randall (Kate Bryan) Peters, Bozeman, Mont.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Zittlow; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Burns.
In addition to her parents and husband, Melvin Peters, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Burns; a son-in-law, Dean Burns; a brother, Harold Schroeder; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schroeder; and a brother-in-law, Marlin Zittlow.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Saturday, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 South Ashland, where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randal Argall officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund had been established in Evelyn's name.
