- Harold T. Baumann, age 86, of Mackville, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Carolina Manor. Harold was born in Mackville, at home on the family farm, October 4, 1920, the son of the late John W. and Odelia (Fries) Baumann. He resided in Mackville all of his life and graduated from St. Edward Catholic School. On May 17, 1944, Harold was united in marriage to Ethel Wittlin, sharing 51 years together before her death on August 28, 1995. Harold farmed in Mackville for many years and also worked at Fox Tractor for over 35 years. He had a lifelong love for farming and International tractors. Harold will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, eating at Mary's Family Restaurant, playing Sheepshead, and his Farmall H.
Harold was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville and in later years was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton.
He will be deeply missed by his children: Darlene (Bob) Court of Center Valley, Debra (Charles) Bergmann of Medina, Donna (Rick) Brincks of Seymour, Della (Randy) Loewenhagen of Nekoosa, Dawn (Joe) Tuchscherer of Greenville, Dina (Kevin) Lillge of Center Valley, Diane Hawley of Black Creek and her fiance Bill Botzet, Richard (Darla) Baumann of Winneconne, Gerald (Shirley) Baumann of Mackville, Keith (Jackie Vandehey) Baumann of Appleton, Joseph (Mary) Baumann of Oshkosh, Duane (Linda) Baumann of Center Valley, and David (Paula) Baumann of Kaukauna; two sisters: Sister Mary Florian Baumann of Manitowoc and Mary Tennie of Shiocton; 41 grandchildren: Randy, Michele, Rodney, Melissa, Valla, Alla, Holly, Larry, Cheri, Ron, Laurie, Corey, Drena, Jon, Dean, Dale, Tim, Andy, Travis, Troy, Paul, Jenny, Tammy, Chris, Kayla, Jaime, Luke, Mike, Kristi, Ken, Kelly, Robin, Nicole, Amber, Will, Taylor, Chad, Bridget, Karie, Kimberley, and Eric; 49 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by a son Ron, three grandchildren: Eric Hawley, Will Dobberstein, and Michael Schumacher; two sons-in-law: Steve Schumacher and Brian Dobberstein; six brothers: Frank, Victor, Silverius, Cyril, John and Florian; four sisters: Helen Stingle, Alice Romenesko, Phyllis Smits and Lucille Fox.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, August 4th at St. Edward Catholic Church (Highway 47), Mackville with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will take place at St. Edward Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church from 4-8 p.m. Friday and again from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
