- ORSINGER, VIOLA NEVI On Wednesday, August 3, 2005. VIOLA NEVI ORSINGER was born on February 18, 1921 in Cumberland, Maryland, to a very close Italian-American family. She earned an RN from Memorial Hospital there, and then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Catholic University in 1945. In 1946 she married William H. Orsinger, M.D., while he was still a medical student. This past December, Viola and Bill celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and a long and very loving relationship together. Besides multiple volunteer activities with the Arlington County Medical Society Alliance, Channel 33 cable television, and the Neighbor's Club Arlington, Viola was an accomplished artist. Many paintings of her favorite landscapes are treasured by those who are fortunate enough to have one. But Viola's greatest passion was her family and friends. Her graciousness, warmth, elegance, honesty, sincerity, and modesty have endeared her to all. Her beloved husband Bill; children Michael Orsinger of Purcellville, VA, Barbara Adolfson of Fairfax, VA, Janet Sierra of Fairview, TN, and 10 grandchildren will treasure her memory always. She also has two sisters Inez Albetta and Florence Lander, and a large extended family who knew and loved her as well. Services will be private for family and friends. It is suggested that memorial contributions be made in her name to Capitol Hospice, 6565 Arlington Blvd., suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22041.
