- Kandler, Robert G., Little Ch ute,Age 77, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, peacefully at his home with h is family by his side. He was born May 20, 1926 in Kaukauna; son of Erv in and Frieda (Witt) Kandler. Robert married Imelda Hermsen, September 2 0, 1949, in Little Chute. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Na vy during World War II. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor at App leton Papers for 45 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of S t. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.Robert is survived by his wife, Imelda; his mother, Frieda Kandler, Sun Ci ty, AZ; his children: Margery (Joe) Wegand, Little Chute; Ann (Mike) Mathe s, Kiel; James (Susan) Kandler, Lake Geneva; his grandchildren: Jeffrey, T risha and Scott Wegand, Sara and Lindsay Kandler, Rebecca and Rachel Mathe s; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Loraine Schwinn, Minnetonka, MN; Ge rald (Agnes) Hermsen, De Pere; Bernard (Barbara) Hermsen, Joan (Anthony) G roh, Brookfield, WI; Rosalie (Ernie) Miller, Minneapolis, MN; Paul (Loi s) Hermsen, Kaukauna; Margie Miller, Appleton; his sister, Audrey (Roy) Sc hucknecht, Sun City, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in d eath by his father Ervin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and A nn Hermsen; brothers and sister-in-law: Robert Schwinn, Mary and Joseph V an Thiel, and Robert Miller.Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2004 at St. P aul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St., Combined Locks with Rev. Msgr. Jam es Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Litt le Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3:30 p.m. Monday until the t ime of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for t he American Cancer Society.The family wishes to express their gratitude to the volunteers and nurs es at Affinity Hospice.
