- Gladys E. Kuhn, age 88, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family at Good Shepherd Home, Seymour, on Monday, July 26, 2010. She was born in Kaukauna, on June 12, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Green) Gilkey. On November 14, 1942, she married her husband of 51 years, Eldor "Al" Kuhn, who preceded her in death. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Kaukauna. She graduated with the class of 1940, where she participated in track, glee club and was a drum majorette. She was a life-long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Christian Mothers Society and worked for funeral dinners for over 50 years.
Gladys is survived by her four children: Barbara (Floyd) Bain, De Pere, John (Mary Gale) Kuhn, Seymour, Sarah (Mark) Morgan, Appleton, and Laura (Robert) Wolske, Lodi, WI; Gladys is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Christopher (Nicole) Bain, Bruce (Bonnie) Bain, Tracy (Joe) Murphy, Melissa (Terry) Brockman, Adam Bain (special friend Bonnie Dietzen), Troy (Rebecca) Kuhn, Tanya (Ryan) Danner, Heather (Jay) Robaidek, Carmen Przybylski, William, Anna and Elizabeth Wolske; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Sally (Cliff) Thiel, a brother, Austin Gilkey, and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Brockman.
Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St.; with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
