5, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Shewas the youngest of five children born to Alfred and Theresa (Green) Vande hey on August 25, 1930, in Appleton.Janet attended HolyCross Grade School and Kaukauna High School; graduating in 1948. She work ed at Zwicker Knitting Mills and Robert Grocery and in1958 accepted a position as housekeeper for Rev. John P. Schmitt. Janet wo rked with Fr. Schmitt for 46 years serving the parishes inPlainfield, Hilbert, De Pere, Sugar Bush, and in 1992 retiring to Two Rive rs.During her employment with Fr. John, Janet utilized her excellent cooki ng skills entertaining many visiting priests and bishops. She alsokept her family and friends supplied with her delicious brownies and cooki es. Despite her own war with esophageal cancer, she spentmany hours at Fr. John's bedside, caring and nursing for him during his il lness.Janet is survived by her sister, Rosann (Joseph) Appleton, Kaukauna; broth er, Eugene (JoAnn), Little Chute; sister in law, MarianVandehey, Kimberly; nieces and nephews; Judy (Elmer) Van Dyke, Jackie (fia ncee Keith Bauman) Vandehey, John (Val) Vandehey,Jeff Van Dyke, David (Jan) Appleton, Richard (Peggy) Appleton, Susi (speci al friend Mark Tatro) Vandehey, Patti (Jack ) Van Hoof,Barb Deering, Nancy Vandehey, Mike (Paula) Vandehey, Katie Hooper, Mary (D ave) Verboomen, Deb (Kev) Van Dyn Hoven, Mark(Sheila) Vandehey, special friends, Toni and Bob Becker, Therese and Tom S chmitt and their daughters, Abbey and Katie, Mary Ann

Vandehey.The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday January 29, 2006 at HOLY CRO SS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer StreetKaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey and Fr. Bill O'Brien concelebrating. Frie nds will be received on Sunday January 28th at the BoettcherFamily Funeral Home 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until t he 8 p.m. and again on Monday at Church from 9 a.m. untilthe time of service. Interment will take place in the parish cemeter y. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
