- Leland P. Kobussen, 84, Mequon, Wis., passed away on Sept. 1. 2009. He was born on April 26, 1925, in the town of Kaukauna, youngest son of the late John and Hattie (Bloy) Kobussen. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and was a proud Veteran of World War II, serving as an Army Air Corp pilot in the South Pacific.
Lee married Carol J. Schweikofer on Sept. 4, 1948, in Green Bay, Wis. They spent 55 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on July 7, 2003.
In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling, and reading. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and extended Kobussen family.
Lee is survived by his children, Tony (Fumiko) Kobussen, Anchorage, Alaska; Mary Streit, Rockford, Ill.; Ann (Jim) Pappas, Mequon, Wis.; Paul (Amy) Kobussen, Manitowish Waters, Wis.; Tom (Kathy) Kobussen, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Tim (Denise) Kobussen, Whitefish Bay, Wis.; his grandchildren Clair, Amanda, Danny, Audry, Koby, Charlie and Tori; great-grandchildren, Carolee, Whitney, Thomas, Warran and Samantha; nieces and nephews; and his sister, Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Elwood "Goldie," Harold, Harvey, and Karl; and sister, Mildred "Binny."
The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the St. Mary site of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, located at 119 West 7th Street in Kaukauna.

Lee was a terrific father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend who loved his family, his friends, his dogs and, by his own admission, buying a brand new car way too often.
