- Schaaf, Rose D.
MINERAL POINT - Rose D. Schaaf, age 100, of Mineral Point, died on Monday, April 1, 1996, at Memorial Hospital in Dodgeville, after a brief illness. She was born in Union Mills Community, Highland Township, on March 24, 1896, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Reckenthaler) Beckius. She worked in Milwaukee and married Nicholas A. Schaaf in 1927 in Milwaukee. They moved to Mineral Point in 1930, and she has been a Mineral Point area resident since that time. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Point, and the Church Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by a son, John E. (Teresa) Schaaf; a daughter, Doris Schaaf, both of Mineral Point; six grandchildren, Julie (Ron) Dunbar, Jan, Steve, and Sandra Schaaf, Kathy (Doug) Nofsinger, and Mark Fitzgerald; a son-in-law, Bill Fitzgerald of Dodgeville; two great-grandchildren; and nieces ana nephews. She was preceded in death By her parents; her husband in 1945; a daughter, Donnas Fitzgerald in 1987; a grandson, Michael Fitzgerald in 1980; two brothers; and fivesisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH with Father Thomas Segerson officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mineral Point. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 1996, and also from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. A C.C.W. Rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
