- Green, Mary Grace (Wandrey) MILWAUKEE - Mary Grace (nee Wandrey) Green, age 90, of Milwaukee, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Milwaukee Catholic Home in Milwaukee. She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Madison, to the late William and Mary (nee Grace) Wandrey and married Thomas R. Green on Aug. 20, 1940, in Madison. Thomas preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1999. Mary was born and raised in Madison and attended grade school at St. Raphael?s. She then attended Edgewood High School and after graduation attended Edgewood College for two years, before transferring to the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where she graduated with a degree in English education, in 1938. After her graduation she worked as a stenographer for Forest Products Laboratories. Following their marriage, Tom and Mary lived in Shawano, Milwaukee, Kewaskum and West Bend, where her husband owned and operated Decorah Dairy in the 1950s. They then moved to Waukegan, Ill. and to Madison, before returning to West Bend in their retirement years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling throughout the United States and Western Europe and in her later years, she enjoyed sewing. Mary Grace was a warm, loving and generous woman who was unfailingly kind to everyone. Her world revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was also very devoted to her sister, Betty and her family. Survivors include her 10 children, Bill (Betty) of Denver, Colo., Tom (Phyllis) of West Bend, Peter (Dawn) of Glendale, Calif., Sister Mary Ellen of Sinsinawa, Wis., Katherine (Jack) Chapuran of Eagan, Minn., Frank (Jana) of Eagle Rock, Calif., Margaret (Ken) Livadas of Bedford, N.H., Theresa (Dennis) Skelly of Brookfield, Marie (Dale) Ganser of Sauk City and Joan (Jay) Christgau of Minoqua; 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Elizabeth ?Betty? Ryan of St. Paul, Minn.; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Tom; a great-grandson and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday, July 15, 2007, at 3 p.m. at HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH in Newburg, with the Rev. Kevin Kowalske presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, at the church only from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters.
