- Mr. Louis J. Verhagen, age 6 9, died early Saturday evening after a brief illness. He was born Decemb er 8th, 1906 in the town of Freedom. He married Ceil Williamsen in 19 26 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute. They celebrated their gold en wedding anniversary October 5th, 1976. He had been employed by Tony Wo nders Club for 24 years until he started his own business in 1953. He th en operated Louie's Supper Club until his retirement in 1971. He had al so served as a clerk for the village of Little Chute for 12 years and w as a former chairman for the Veterans Administration board. Mr. Verhag en was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church, the American Legion Po st No. 258, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Forty et 8, and an honora ry member of the St. Pius Men's Society. He was a member of the Tavern Le ague and had served as their secretary from 1955 to 1966. He had been a v eteran of World War II. having served in the United States Navy from 19 43 to 1945. Survivors include his wife Ceil Williamsen Verhagen; two daug hters: Mrs. Tom (Eileen) Hale, of Kimberly; and Mrs. David (Janis) Len z, of Little Chute; a son, Jerry L., of Kimberly; a brother, Nick, of Mena sha; two sisters: Mrs. Peter (Margaret) VandenHeuvel, of Little Chute; a nd Mrs. Anton (Mathilda) Oudenhoven, of Kimberly; 17 grandchildren; and fo ur great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, thr ee sisters, and a grandson. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesd ay at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with a concelebrated Mass wi th the Reverend Monsignor James Vandenhogen, Rev. Norbert VandeLoo, and t he Rev. David Barrett officiating. Internment will be in the St. John's c emetery. Military rights will be held immediately following the servi ce at the church.
