- Smudde, Aloysius G.Aloysius G. Smudde, Kaukauna, age 92 died Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at h is home with his family by his side. Al was born October 10, 1912 in Kauka una the son of the late Reinhardt and Anna (Goede) Smudde. On June 29, 19 39 he married Agnes Van Handel at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chut e. Al has been a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Church, Freedom and devot ed his life to raising and caring for his family. Al loved to spend time w ith his family at his cottage on White Potato Lake. He enjoyed taking h is family fishing on his "pontoon." Making clocks was a favorite hob by of Al's. All of his children and grandchildren have one of his handma de clocks. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.He will be sadly missed by his wife: Agnes of Kaukauna; six daughters: Bev erly (Donald) Feldkamp, Appleton; Leone (James) Pahl, Brillion; Ann (Dav e) Dupont, Tomahawk, Wisconsin; Lois (James) Lemke, Green Bay; Linda (Dona ld) Moehring, Appleton; Mary (Joe) Greiner, Freedom; five sons: Richard (J oyce) Smudde, Kaukauna; Ralph (Kathy) Smudde, Kaukauna; Kenneth (Julie) Sm udde, Kaukauna; Steve (Sue) Smudde, Kaukauna; Brian Smudde, Appleton; 21 g randchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Irene Stoffel, Ursu la (Clarence) Van Den Heuvel and Audrey Van Camp; brothers-in-law: Arth ur Van Handel, Wilfred (Lorna) Van Handel, Richard (Grace) Van Handel a nd Ervin (Ruth) Van Handel.He was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters; and six brothers/sist ers-in-law.The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Februa ry 12, 2005 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with Fr. Dennis Ry an officiating. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 2 04 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and at t he church on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service. There wi ll be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the funer al home. Interment will be held immediately following the mass in the pari sh cemetery.The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Thomas Schelbl e, his nurse Elaine, and the staff at Affinity Hospice.
