Agnes Callaway, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 27, 200 3, at a local nursing home. She was born June 12, 1915, in Kaukauna, to t he late Henry and Anna (Seggelink) Hurkman. Agnes attended St. Mary's Scho ol of Nursing and graduated as an R.N. in 1936. On April 28, 1938, Agnes w as united in marriage to Millard Callaway. Together they enjoyed more th an 30 years of marriage until Millard's death in 1960. In her spare time A gnes loved to garden, read, do crossword puzzles and spend time with her f amily. Some of her greatest joys came was when she was able to help peop le through her nursing skills.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, James Callaway, Thom as and Barbara Callaway, Susan and Michael Hudak, all of Green Bay; five g randchildren and their spouses, Kim and Erik Gulbrandson, Milwaukee; Charl es and Dawn Callaway, Jenna Hudak, Kellie Hudak, Kevin Hudak, all of Gre en Bay; a niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard; her parents; and thr ee brothers, Arnold, Clarence and John Hurkman.
A Private Family Service will be held on Sunday at Blaney Funeral Home, 15 21 Shawano Ave.
The Callaway family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Woodside N ursing Home for all of their wonderful care and compassion shown to Agn es and her family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
