ERIE STREE T, DIES,Leaves 59 DescendantsHenry De Groot, aged nearly 83 years, died on last Saturday, Sept. 1, at h is home on South Erie street. The funeral was held from St. Mary's chur ch on Tuesday morning, burial being in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The pall bear ers were six grandsons, namely, William, Benjamin and Henry Meeuwsen and M ark, Joseph and Amos De Groot. Among those present at the funeral from ou tside were John De Groot, Mr. And Mrs. Cornelius De Groot and children, Mr s. Anton Edelbeck, Henry and William De Groot and Mrs. Barney De Groot, a ll of Wausaukee; Henry Van Vonderen, Coleman; Joseph De Groot, Little Chut e; Mr. And Mrs. Mr. And Mrs. Leonard Van Straten and Mr. And Mrs. Henry V an Straten, Shiocton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank De Cleene, Greenleaf. Mr. De Gro ot was born at Reek, Holland, and came to this vicinity in 1866, settli ng on a piece of land in the town of De Pere which he developed into a fi ne farm. He retired from the business about twenty years ago and moved in to De Pere. Mr. and Mrs. De Groot celebrated their golden wedding anniver sary in June, 1918. He is survived by his widow and four children, Mr s. P. Meeuwsen, town of De Pere; George, town of De Pere, and John and Cor nelius, Wausaukee; also by forty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchi ldren, and by one sister, Mrs. Cornelius Janssen, De Pere.
