Jerome H. Welhouse, Kaukauna, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the age of 92, with his family at his side. He was born March 17, 1915, to the late Joseph and Johanna (Van Linn) Welhouse and has been a Kaukauna resident all of his life. Jerome married Margaret Imelia Grishaber on May 14, 1940, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. He was involved with his father and brothers in the construction business and then established the Jerome Welhouse Construction Company. Jerome was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish, Kaukauna.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Welhouse; six children, David (Kathy) Welhouse, Donald (Audrey) Welhouse and Janet (Gary) Schwalenberg, all of Kaukauna; Dennis Welhouse, Chardon, Ohio; Jerry (Mary) Welhouse, High Cliff; and Gregory (Lori) Welhouse, Kaukauna; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Welhouse, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law, Ginger (Don) Stuyvenberg, Darboy; and Maxine Welhouse, Appleton. Jerome is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and James (Rosemary) Welhouse; sisters, Agnes (Jim) Sanders and Alice (Don) Garrigan; and sister-in-law, Rose Welhouse.
The funeral liturgy for Jerome will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH-ST. ALOYSIUS, 2401 Main Avenue, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
