- Darboy - Donald R. Mader, age 83, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Oakridge Gardens. He was born June 26, 1927, in the Town of Harrison to the late William and Amelia (Hartzeim) Mader. Don was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Germany 1945 to 1947. On September 29, 1951, he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Erickson in Sheboygan Falls, WI. Don was employed at Kimberly-Clark for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved golfing on Thursdays with his friends and was proud of his hole-in-one. Don enjoyed playing a good game of cribbage. He was also known as "The Mayor of Darboy". Don enjoyed family cookouts and sitting around the campfire with the family. As Don would say "What's the Ma-der for you."
Survivors include his wife Phyllis; three daughters: Kathy (Pat) Vogel, Suzanne (Scott) Fairchild, and Cindy (Joe) Betters; five sons: Donald "Duke" (Janet) Mader, Keith Mader, Gilbert "Gilly" (Kathy) Mader, Randy Mader, and Scott (special friend Nikki) Mader; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Roger and Donna Geurden; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jason Mader, a daughter-in-law, Karla Mader; a sister, Laverne (Les) Kasten; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Ralph (Marie) Mader, Lawrence (Linda) Mader, Cyril (Eleanore) Mader, Bob (Flo) Mader, John (Helen) Mader, and Arlon (La Verne) Mader; and his mother and father-in-law: Gilbert and Helen Erickson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH at Holy Angels Church, W2796 Highway KK, Darboy with Fr. Dave Beaudry officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with a Parish Prayer service at 7 p.m. concluding the evening. Friends may call again directly at church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Burial will take place in Holy Angels Cemetery in Darboy.

Dad you cheated death so many times in your life I always thought God had a special plan for you! Now I know his plan all along was to be there for us as our father. Till we meet again.
