- See Image Uitenbroek, Donald, Cty Tk UU Kaukauna Age 73, died Friday January 2, 2004 at the Appleton Medical Center followi ng a short illness. He was born January 20, 1930 in Darboy, WI son of t he late Joseph and Mary (Sprangers) Uitenbroek. Don served with the US Ar my during the Korean War. On September 23, 1953 Don married the former Lor raine Diedrick. The couple farmed in the Freedom area their entire marri ed lives. Don also worked for Repap for 43 years, retiring in 1995. He enj oyed doing lawn work and saw sharpening. Don was a member of St. Nichol as Catholic Church, Freedom and was a member of the Freedom Fire Departmen t, where he served on the Board of Directors for 30 years and was an acti ve fireman for 18 years. He was also past and present Commander of the Fre edom VFW Post 7692 and a member of the Little Chute American Legion Post 2 58.Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lorraine, their children; Phyll is (Jim) Van Asten, Wrightstown, Bob (Lori) Uitenbroek, Freedom, Janet (Pe te) Van Handel, Kaukauna, Lyle (Christa) Uitenbroek, Oneida, Lisa (Jerr y) Ebben, Mackville, Lori (Bob) Greiner, Freedom, Gail (Jeff) Van Rossu m, Freedom, Jill Uitenbroek, Little Chute, 7 grandchildren; Ryan, Jason a nd Matt Uitenbroek, Brian and Michael Ebben, Nichole Van Rossum and Jonath on Greiner, 5 brothers and 7 sisters-in-law; Denis (Irene), Jerome (Lynn ), Cliff (Joanne), Paul (Donna) and Ruth Uitenbroek all of Darboy, Joe (El eanor), Little Chute and Janice Uitenbroek of Iowa. He is further surviv ed by his wife's family; Vi Evers, Delores Diedrick, Ev Diedrick, Berni ce (Ray) Ver Voort and numerous nieces and nephews.Don was preceded in death by 2 brothers Claude and Mark and 3 brothers-in- law; Ed Evers, Ernie and Joe Diedrick.Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday at St. Nicholas Cathol ic Church, Freedom with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial with comple te military rites, conducted by the Freedom VFW and Little Chute Americ an Legion, will take place in the parish cemetery immediately following se rvices. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldc rest Dr., Kaukauna from 4 to 8 pm Monday and after 10 am Tuesday direct ly at the church until the time of services. The VFW and American Legion w ill meet at 6:30 pm Monday and a parish prayer service will follow at 7 p m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.The family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Pettis, Dr. Lewando wski, Dr. Khan, Dr. Danz, Dr. Boren, Dr. Koeper and the nurses and sta ff of Appleton Medical Center's 4th Floor North and the ICU.
