- PARTIAL OBIT; Peeters , Eugene H. "Shorty": Eugene H. "Shorty" Peeters, 90, Little Chute, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family May 19, 2006, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. He was born October 10, 1915, in Little Chute son of Stephen and Dina (Dercks) Peeters. Eugene married Bernice Kappell on May 3, 1941, in Little Chute and she preceded in him in death April 3, 2006. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and Fox Valley Golf Club. He was also a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute. A humble man, he loved God, family, friends, country, nature, and all of God's creatures. He served his country during World War II, in the South Pacific Theatre, knowing he would miss his wife and young family at home. Returning home from the war, Dad started his own business, a painting contractor, which he successfully ran for 40 years. His business beliefs were to treat his customers fairly, work hard, and give them the best value for their money. Dad loved to dance, he enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting, and was an experienced trapper. Family times were the most precious, whether they were packing up to go ice fishing, the beach, or just visiting on the porch, rocking on the glider.
