- Mrs. John Van Rossum, (Agnes Hartzheim), AppletonAge 76, passed away at home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, Augu st 1, 2000. Agnes was born June 21, 1924, in the Town of Harrison, the dau ghter of the late Peter and Mary (Luniak) Hartzheim. She spent her chil dhood on the family farm in the Darboy area and later moved to Appleton wh ere she was employed by Tuttle Press. Agnes served in the Army Air Force d uring World War II. She achieved the rank of Sergeant and received the Vic tory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and Certificate of Meritorious Ser vice. Agnes was united in marriage to John E. Van Rossum on May 5, 194 8, sharing 52 years together. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife a nd mother who dearly loved her family. She was always there with love a nd support when we needed it. Agnes was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Ch urch. She will be deeply missed by her husband, John; her children, Jack ( Karen) Van Rossum, Green Bay; David and Jeffery Van Rossum, Appleton; Ma ry Gilkey, Appleton; Stephen (Joann) Van Rossum, Appleton; Susan (Tom) Raa tz, Appleton; Mark (Mary) Van Rossum,Neenah; Patty (Mike) Baumgart, Appleton; and Michael (Jodi) Van Rossum, Ne enah; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent (V onnie) Hartzheim and Marvin (Jenny) Hartzheim, Kaukauna; and Lester (Vi rg) Hartzheim, Appleton; sisters, Bernice Coenen and Bea (Paul) Ashauer, A ppleton; Mabel Kohl, Neenah; and Gert (Joseph) Raymaker, Little Chute; al so many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Agn es was preceded in death by two infant granddaughters and two brothers, La wrence and Peter Hartzheim. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St reet, with Fr. John Holly officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemete ry. Friends may call directly at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until t he time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been establishe d.
