- Peter Derfus Dies After Long Illness
Sherwood - Peter Derfus. 61, life-long resident of this vicinity, died at his farm home just south of the city limits after a lingering illness Sunday morning. Born at Sherwood, Jan. 11. 1875, he was n member of the Holy Name society and Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Survivors are the widow; one daughter. Miss Helen Derfus, Sherwood, and one brother, Michael Derfus, Sherwood. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church with the Rev. Peter Grosnick in charge. The body will be at the home until the time of services.

Sherwood - Funeral services for
Peter Derfus. a well-known resident of this community, were conducted at 9:30 Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church, Sherwood, by the Rev. W. Bruecher, Slinger, a relative of the deceased. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Derfus was born here Jan. 11 1876, and resided here all his life. On June 11, 1907, he married Anna Holzschuh, also of Sherwood. He was a member of the Sacred Heart church choir for many years and also of the Catholic Knights and Holy Name societies. Survivors are the widow and one daughter, Helen, Sherwood, and one brother, Michael, Appleton. Honorary bearers were Michael Schreiner, Herbert Wolf, August Loerke, James Hallett, George Schaefer and Joseph Braun. Bearers were Hillard Brantmeier, Clarence Mueller, Bernard Holzschuh, Germaine Derfus, Norbert Derfus and Joseph Braudigan.
