- Mary Alice Meulemans, 78, of the town of Kaukauna, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on April 19, 1930, in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Albert and Susan (Schommer) DeBruin. On November 19, 1949, she married Ralph Meulemans at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Mary Alice was a life-long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Many will remember her from the Sky View Club, where she had waitressed for 41 years. Mary Alice enjoyed playing sheepshead, bowling, golfing, reading and gardening. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Meulemans; her children: Ronald (Nancy) Meulemans, North Haven, CT; Donna Foshee, Seymour; Bob (Sandy) Meulemans, Wrightstown; Carol (Dale) Mignon, Little Chute; Diane (Bob) Vandermause, Green Bay; Jeff (Beth) Meulemans, Kaukauna; Jerry (Barb) Meulemans, Kaukauna; her grandchildren: Eric Meulemans, Megan Foshee, Nichole (Brad) Bruegge, Abby and Matthew Meulemans, Michelle (Tim) O'Brien, Becky (Gerry) Sanders and Jeremy (Nic) Mignon, Troy and Cole Vandermause, Jason (fiancee Traci) Meulemans and Justin (fiancee Jaimie) Meulemans, Eric and Luke Van Lankvelt and Amber Meulemans, her great-grandchildren: Mitchell Bruegge and Zachary Sanders; brothers: Clarence "Cal" DeBruin, Kaukauna; Carl (Grayce) DeBruin, Kaukauna; sister, Betty (Rich) Van Wychen, Kaukauna; brothers-in-law: Cliff Weyers, Kaukauna; Myron Meulemans, Kaukauna; her sisters-in-law, Gloria DeBruin, Kaukauna; Rosemary Franz, Gardnerville, NV. Mary Alice is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by numerous brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.
The funeral liturgy for Mary Alice will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Father Mark Schommer will be officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Fargo Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. A prayer service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
