Donald F. Losselyong, age 71, passed away Sunday evening, August 19, 2007, at his home with his loving family at his side after a long struggle with cancer. He fought the battle with courage, grace and dignity. Don was born September 21, 1935, in Appleton to the late Nicholas and Theresa (Hartzheim) Losselyong. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and Appleton West High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. Don married the former Vivian Peterson of Manawa at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Appleton on May 21, 1960. Don was employed at Geo Banta and later Neenah Printing where he retired in 1999. He was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church.
Don leaves behind his loving family, Vivian, his wife of 47 years; daughters: Lisa (Jim) Clemons and Julie (Ken) Laeyendecker; and he was the proud and loving grandfather of Tyler and McKenzie Clemons and Alex Kampo. He is further survived by two stepchildren: Jared and Cole Laeyendecker; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Bob) Nemacheck, brothers and sisters-in-law: Karl (Delores), Gene (Kathy), Jerry (Elaena) and Betty Losselyong; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (George) Nelson, Jim (Ihla) Peterson, Lloyd Schimke and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David; a twin brother, Daniel; and his half brother, John (Wilma) Losselyong; a sister-in-law, Irene Schimke and a special Aunt, Margaret Hartzheim.
Funeral services for Don will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., with Fr. Richard Mauthe officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at Riverside cemetery.
Don's family would like to thank Dr. Swanson, ThedaCare at Home Hospice and our nurse Mary O'Brien, the people of St. Pius, especially Chuck Connelly and Deacon Rick Simon. Also Dr. Mary Stastny and Lisa Knoff of the VA Clinic.
