Hi Pamela,
by the way...
Molitor is realy common. It?s the latin translation (by local priests) from
Mueller (english Miller).
The city of Hoven in SD was founded by the family Hoven, born in Kyllburg
north of Trier. The first wife died in WI before the family moved west. Her name was
Mueller...I have found several individuals from Trier region the moved to Hoven:
Mueller, Erschens, HovenThe Hovens lived in Philippsweiler and emigrated in 1846/1847 (to WI),
The Mueller was from the Zahnen mill close to Kyllburg,
The Erschens were from Kell south of Trier. And, perhaps there is a connection to the Molitor in Trier region.Pamela, do you know the immigration year of the Molitor family ?
