- RUTH MAURER "Teddy Bear" (nee Huhn) N407 Harrison St., SherwoodAge 71, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at her home. She was born May 12, 1929, in Appleton, daughter of the late Matt and Felicita (Kronschnable) Hu hn. On May 12 1929, Ruth married Gene Maurer in Sherwood. The couple mov ed to South Carolina until 1956 at which time they returned to Sherwood. R uth was employed at TDS Telephone Company for 27 years until her retiremen t. She enjoyed going to the family trailer at Silver Lake in Wild Rose, Wi sconsin, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ruth w as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, and the Thomas E. K ees Post 496 American Legion Auzillary. She is survived by her husba nd of 47 years, Gene, Sherwood; two daughters and two sons-in-laws, Marjo ry (Walter) Jentsch, Sherwood; Peggy (Jerome) Kowaleski, Greensboro, Nor th Carolina; three grandchildren, Anthony and Lisa Goerl, Sherwood; Matth ew Kowaleski, Greensboro, North Carolina; a brother and three sisters-in-l aw, Dave (Shirley) Huhn, Kimberly; Rose Huhn, Appleton; Mary Huhn, Neena h; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rita Schnieder, Port Edwards; Car ole (Joe) Diederick, Sherwood; Grace Bauer, Sherwood; Helen (Bob) Schipfer ling, Mosinee; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by t wo brothers: Tom and Dennis Huhn; and two brothers-in-law, Orly Bauer a nd Gene Schnieder. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Apr il 4, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, with Fr. Kenneth Fr ozena officiating. Burial in High Cliff Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may ca ll at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive and aft er 10 a.m. Wednesday directly at the church until the time of service s. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
