- Thomas J. Seggelink, Newport News, VA, beloved husband, father and grandfather, USN Chief Petty Officer (ret.) Thomas J. Seggelink passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, after battling a long illness. Tom was born in Appleton, WI, in 1949 and served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy for 22 years. He married Patricia Ellen Johnson in 1969 and shared over 40 years of adventures with her, including fishing, hunting and traveling the country. After living on the West Coast for the first part of their journey together, Tom found his ship traveling to the East Coast and they settled in Newport News, where they have remained for the past 25 years. Tom retired from the U.S. Navy in December 1991. He was a member of the Denbigh Christian Church.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Patricia Ellen Seggelink; his loving son, Steven, and grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob and Matthew; and his loving son, James, and grandsons, Evan and Jared.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Weymouth Funeral Home A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010, at Denbigh Christian Church by Rev. Cliff Manuel. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park with full military honors. All services will be held in Newport News, VA. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
