- Raymond F. Marcks, 99, Green Bay, died peacefully on Dec. 15, 2004, at a local hospital. Born on April 18, 1905, he is the son of the late John and Wilhelmina (Ohm) Marcks. On June 14, 1941, he married the former Doris De Keyser, and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2002. Ray worked as a mechanic at Bouschards Standard Service for many years. He enjoyed fishing, biking, walking, gardening, cooking, and reading. His contagious smile and kind spirit made him many friends throughout the years. Ray had a deep faith, and was a member, trustee, greeter, and candle maker at East Side Moravian Church.
Ray is survived by his two daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte (Marvin) Mertens, Allouez; Carol Marcks, Little Chute; five grandchildren, Jeff (Kris) Mertens, Washington, Ill.; Michael (Karen) Mertens, Seymour; Scott (Anna) Mertens, Sturgeon Bay; Holly Toonen, Mike (Jamie) Klika, all of Allouez; six great-grandchildren, Hanna and Marissa Mertens, Josh and Bret Mertens, Shaun Hurning, Cole and Christian Toonen; one sister, Helen (Harold) Lathrop, Black Creek; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Betty LaGrave, Green Bay.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, Victor, Melvin, Harvey, and Gordon.
Friends may call at East Side Moravian Church, corner of Allouez Avenue and Libal Street, from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the memorial services.
