- See Image Mrs. Ervin Verhagen, Dorothy v an Zeeland, 97 Joyce St., Kaukauna, age 75, died Tuesday, October 28th, 19 97 at her home following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer,. She w as born March 25th, 1922 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Henry and M argaret (Biese) VanZealand. Dot was a volunteer for St. Vincent de Pau l. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting and making afghans and slippe rs for her family. She also loved fishing and spending time up north f or colorrama, Dot was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a past treas urer of the Countryside Thursday ladies Golf Team and the Catholic Ord er of Foresters. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ervin; six d aughters and sons in law: Sandra and Chuck Jacobi, of Fort Myers Florid a; Mary and Len Hawley, of Crystal Lake Ill.; Barb and Leo Schuh, of Litt le Chute; Joyce and Ray Schuh, of Little Chute; Judy and Al Zierler, of Li ttle Chute; Coleen and Tom Geske, of Kaukauna; three sons and daughte rs in law: Keith and Lynn Verhagen, of Combined Locks: Mark and Cindy Verh agen of Little Chute: Bruce and Julie Verhagen of Little Chute. She enjoy ed spending time with her 23 grandchildren: Brian (Maria), Rob and Dave Ha wley: Amy (Gerry) Weyenberg, Val (Cole) Ziegelbauer, Todd Verhagen, Br ad (Michele), Scott and Matt Hawley; Bill, Tonya, and Jody Schuh, Rick a nd Pat Schuh; David and Doug Verhagen, Mike and Ben Verhagen, Michelle, Ka thy and Kelly Zierler, Christy and Chad Geske; 3 step grandchildren Gary ( Andrea), Greg and Guy (fiancee Shannon) Jacobi, six great-grandchildren Sa rah and Matthew Hawley, Gary Lobermeier Kendra and Ryan Weyenberg, Alexi V erhagen; 3 step great-grandchildren Jason, Erin and Joshua Jacobi, a broth er and sister in law Robert and Jan Van Zeeland of Raymond, Maine; two sis ters and brothers in law, Eunice Reider, of Kimberly; Dolores and Marv Van denberg, of Mesa Arizona, Marv and Rose Schumacher, of DePere. She is al so survived by her husband's sisters and brothers Rosemary Kramer, of Kauk auna, Johanna Fink of Algoma; Gene and Rita Verhagen, of Kaukauna; Jerry V erhagen, of Waupaca, and many special relatives and friends. She is prece ded by her parents, her mother and father in law, Louis and Catherine Verh agen, a son David, three sisters, Ardell and Margaret Ann Van Zeeland a nd Betsy Schumacher; a brother and sister in law Gene and Ann Van Zeelan d; four brothers in law: Mel Verhagen, Steve Verhagen, Clarence Fink, a nd Thomas Reider, two sisters in law: Regina (Wally) Swanningson, and Kat hy Verhagen. The mass of resurrection will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday Octob er 30, 1997 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father Dave Hoff man officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Kaukauna Speci al thanks to Dr. Swanson and staff, Hospice and V.N.A., Mary Lawrence, Kat ie Bennett, neighbors and friends for all their care and support.
