- Jack was born on October 23, 1938, the son of Charles and Lucille Schultenover of Sparta, WI. He attended St.Patricks Catholic School and Sparta High School. He enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1956 and graduated from High School in 1957. He married Linda Miller in 1959 and they had 5 children. They lived in Virginia, Minneapolis, MN and Sparta, WI. He and Linda had 5 children. Jack worked for Northwest Airlines Air Traffic Controller and Webster Lumber Co. in Payroll and Personnel. He was divorced in 1991. Jack retired from Webster Lumber Co. in 1992 where he moved to Richland Center, WI. He began attending the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wy. In 1995 Jack fulfilled a life long dream and moved west. He and his rodeo friend Larry Huffman settled in Belen , NM. In New Mexico Jack started out working for the Los Lunas Medical Clinic. Later he became active with the Planning and Zoning Committee and started working for the Best Western. At the Best Western he was know as The Jack of all Trades. The Catholic Church was very important to him. He was active as Sunday school teacher in the St Patricks Parish, Sparta for many years. He was a Commissioned Lay Minister for the Diocese of La Crosse. Jack was a lay minister for St. Patricks in Sparta, WI, Fort McCoy and St. Marys in Richland Center, WI. In Belen, NM he was an active member of Our Lady of Belen. Jack was a good listener and was an avid supporter and shoulder to lean to many involved and getting help through AL - ANON. Jack was truly a Jack of all trades. In Sparta he was a hobby farmer and a great wood worker. He has left his mark, the tool of his fathers trade, on many homes in the Sparta, Richland Center and Belen areas. Many can say they live in the house that Jack built or at least remodeled. He owned two homes in the Sparta area where he raised his family and passed on the trade. In October of 2004 he was diagnosed with Cancer of the lung and bone. His Father, Charles Schultenover and grandson, Eric Schultenover, preceded him in death. Jack is survived by: his mother, Lucille Schultenover of Sparta, WI, His brothers Chuck ( Alice) Schultenover of Holly, MI, Jim (Beth) Schultenover of Washington DC and a sister Judy Janzen of Sparta, WI; five children, Lori Krage of Rushford, MN, Dave (Deb) Schultenover of Mahomet ,IL, Chris Schultenover of Los Angeles, CA, Tim (Missy) Schultenover of Cashton, WI, Julie (Mike)Onshus of Cashton, WI. Jack also has survived by seven grandchildren, Casey (Joshua) Withington, Chad ( Katie) Schultenover, Ben Krage, Karl Schultenover, Tara Schultenover, Ty Schultenover and Brett Schultenover; one Step grandchild, Sara ( Rick ) Christianson and one step great grandchild, Logan Christianson. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1 PM in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 PM. Additional services will be held at a later time in Wisconsin.
