- Mary Derus, age 64, passed peacefully on November 3, 2014 surrounded by her children. Mary was born October 23, 1950 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Willis and Julietta (Baugniet) Meisenhelder. Graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee before moving to Kaukauna, Wisconsin. She was employee with Kmart for several years before moving to Kissimmee, FL to start her dream job at Walt Disney World. After 24 wonderful years of working as the " go to lady " for her entire team, she retired at age 62. During her few years of retirement, she enjoyed taking her family an friends to Disney, to share with them her love and show them the " magic". She was also a member of the American Legion, Ladies auxiliary, the ladies of the Moose, and had recently joined the Fraternal order of Eagles, were she spent many hours doing her favorite pastime playing bingo. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her boys and her daughter of the heart.
She is survived by her sons, Jason ( Vicki) Montanye, Kaukauna, WI and David Montanye, Kissimmee, FL; and grandson Trevor Hansen and special friend Krista; and her great grand baby due in December; brother Mello Meisenhelder; nephew, Andrew Meisenhelder; niece, Katie (Trey) Cube, Largo, FL; special friends Kay and Ned Strite; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceeded in death by her father ,Willis Meisenhelder, and mother, Julietta.
Mary's wishes were to not have a funeral service, but a " Celebration of Life" which will occur at a later date for her family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Hildebrand, Dr. Gandev , and Dr. Avery along with the ICU staff: Bill, Katie and Nan. Words can not express the compassion that you showed our family and our Mother. A special thank you to Bev Meisenhelder and Ned Montanye for lending a shoulder to lean on during our hard times.
