  Raymond Aplin The Sheboygan Press October 20, 1952Raymond (Ray) Aplin, 58, of Potter, passed away at St Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, Sunday, following a short illness.He was born June 19, 1894, in the town of Rantoul, Calumet County. He attended Hilbert Schools and was graduated from the Hilbert High School in 1910. On May 27, 1922, he was married at Chilton to Ruth Bettner. After working as a mechanic for several years in neighboring communities he purchased the Aplin Garage at Potter in 1926. He was active in church work and at the time of his death was secretary of the Consistory of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church at Potter. He was a member of the Brotherhood and had served for a number of years as treasurer of the Potter School District. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eugene of Potter, James, with the US Coast Guard at Boston, and James at home; five daughters, Mrs. Harvey Hartz and Mrs. Royal Becker of Brillion, Mrs. Willard Knoespel of Potter, Darlene and Bonnie at home; six grandchildren; and his step-mother, Mrs. Fred Stone of Glade Water, Tex. Also surviving are three half sisters. Mrs. William Lohr, Mrs. Don Zimmerman, and Mrs. Fred Bergen, all of Taycheedah; and two half brothers, Norval Aplin of Michigan, and Rollin Aplin of Taycheedah.
