- Daniel W. Weyers, age 76, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born in Appleton on July 15, 1938 to the late Martin and Clair (Schreiber) Weyers. He graduated with the class of 1956 at Kaukauna High School. On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Susan Argust at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple has enjoyed 51 years together. Dan worked at Kimberly Clark's Atlas Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1997. After retirement, Dan and his wife Susan moved to Elcho to their home on Post Lake. While there, Dan enjoyed relaxing in the outdoors of the great northwoods. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing, following the Packers, Cubs, and Kimberly High School sports.
He will be missed by his loving wife Susan, of Appleton; two sons: Steven W. (Sue) Weyers, and grandchildren Cassie and Mason, Freedom and William (Kaaren) Weyers, and grandchildren Brock and Dane, Village of Harrison; two brothers: Joe (Joan) Weyers and Clarence (Bev) Weyers, both of Kaukauna; 3 brothers-in-law, David Bain and Harry Francis, both of Kaukauna and Roger DuFrane, Black Creek; sister-in-law, Nancy (Pat) O'Brien, GA; and his little buddy, Benji. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard "Bud" Weyers, two sisters: Helen Francis and Marilyn Bain, sister-in-law, Barbara DuFrane, and his little buddy, "Clark."
Friends may visit from 11 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 15, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. A private family prayer service will then be held. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Ebben and his staff for all the compassionate care shown to Dan and Susan over the years. Dan will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
