- John I. Arnoldussen, age 84, of Kaukauna, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008, at Golden Ventures. John was born February 2, 1924, to the late Edward and Lucy (Bowers) Arnoldussen. On July 27, 1943, he was united in marriage to Joyce Johnson at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna and together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. John was a World War II Army Veteran and was a dedicated patriot involved in various military organizations and their functions. One of his many passions was his collection of John Wayne memorabilia.
He is survived by his five sons: John (Chris), CA, James (Jeannie), OK, Marshall (Maria) CA, Stuart (Aminta), TX, and Dennis (Jennifer) AR; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters: Theresa Rosenthal, Appleton, Phyllis (Marvin) Van Deraa, Kaukauna, Joseph Arnoldussen, Appleton, Ervin (Donna) Arnoldussen, Kaukauna, Sr. Mary Arnoldussen, F.S.P.A., Menasha, and Dale (Mary) Arnoldussen. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Patricia Arnoldussen and Jan Arnoldussen, two brothers-in-law, Marvin Hartzeim and Eugene Onkels, numerous nieces, nephews, and Joyce's brother, Leon Williamson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters: Gladys Sacks, Bernice Effa Harris, Genny Hartzeim, and Eunice Onkels, two brothers: Gerald and Clayton Arnoldussen, three brothers-in-law: Walter Rosenthall, Guss Sacks, and Ben Harris, and two sisters-in-law, Cathy Arnoldussen and Carol Arnoldussen.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Affinity Nurses and a special thanks to Wendy Hull and Karen Miller, and all the residents at Golden Ventures.
