- Jacob Henry Paltzer, age 85, passed away Monday, October 23, 2006, at his home. He was born November 8, 1920, to Jacob and Anna (Schaefer). On Aug 25, 1948, he married Leona (Sell) in Chilton. Jacob was a lifelong resident of Appleton where he was a farmer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a charter member of St Thomas More Parish.
Jacob is survived by his wife, Leona; four sons: Jacob (Joyce) Paltzer, Appleton; John (Brenda) Paltzer, Freedom; Joseph (Kelly) Paltzer, Appleton; Jerry Paltzer, Fond du Lac; three daughters: Barbara (Harvey) Bloedow, Oshkosh; Debbie (Clint) Werth, Appleton; Diane (Russ) Martindale, Hatley; two sisters, Theo (Judd) Alexander, Vermont; Sr. Trinette Paltzer, Techny, IL; 12 grandchildren: Jacob and Steve Paltzer, Heather Beckman and Amy Pierce, Michelle Ramus, Jeremy Paltzer, Heather Paltzer, Thomas, Nicholas, and Amanda Bloedow, Joseph and Stephainie Paltzer; five great-grandchildren: Lauren and Cole Paltzer, Brayden Ramus, Kristopher Paltzer and Kole Paltzer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anne Konz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at St Thomas More, 1810 N. McDonald, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
