  Janssen, Frances M., 88 Our mother passed away at Franciscan Care Center, Appleton, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Mom was born on March 25, 1918, to the late Peter and Nettie (Van Theil) Hermes. On August 31, 1940, Mom married our Dad, Tony Janssen. Dad preceded Mom in death on November 26, 1982.Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's edition. Mom was born on March 25, 1918, to the late Peter and Nettie (Van Theil) Hermes. On August 31, 1940, Mom married our Dad, Tony Janssen. Dad preceded Mom in death on November 26, 1982. Mom was an avid reader and a whiz at cross word puzzles. She also loved to crochet, making doilies and afghans for her daughters and daughters-in-law. Mom is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren: Jane (Lee) Jensen, Menasha and their child Terri (William) Rowe, Kimberly; and their children Katy and Shane. Mary (John) Schwanke, Cumberland; and their children, Senior Officer John A. Schwanke, San Diego, CA; Chris (Michelle) Schwanke, Appleton, and their children, Mikayla, Abby, and Faith. Jeff Janssen, Roanoke, VA; his children, Kris (Frank) Bryan, and their child, Jennifer, Douglassville, PA; Brian (Melissa), Eden, MN. Bruce (Carmen) Janssen, Superior; and their children, Shane (Leigh) and their children Mia and Macy, Blaine, MN; Heidi (Jason) Somers, and their child Ava, Aurora, CO; Nicole (Brian) Greenfield and their child Jillian, Parker, CO, and Tony, Moore Head, MN. Kevin (Mary) Janssen, San Francisco, CA. Mom is also survived by her brother, Jim (Evelyn) Hermes, Little Chute. Mom is also survived by nieces and nephews. Mom is preceded in death by her husband, Tony, a son, David, a daughter-in-law, Susan Janssen, Roanoke, VA., a granddaughter, Jennifer Mary Janssen, a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Gordon Ludtke, and a brother and sister-in-law Ves and Joyce Hermes and her dear friend, Phyllis Vanden Bloomen. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. We would like to thank the entire staff at Franciscan Care for the love and concern that was given to Mom from the day she first started to live at Franciscan Care.
