- Loretta G. Dorn, 89, Appleton, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, with her family at her side. She was born April 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Dercks) Coenen in Little Chute. Loretta was united in marriage to Edwin N. Dorn on April 30, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1992. Together Edwin and Loretta owned and operated the family farm. Loretta also worked at Tuttle Press and Rich's Bakery. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in her prominent years.
Loretta will be sadly missed by her six children, Darlene (Marvin) Roth, Dennis (Margaret) Dorn, Richard (Kathy) Dorn, Gary (Jean) Dorn, Diane (Michael) Frank, Debbie (Donald) Geenen; 16 grandchildren, David (Leann) Roth, Steven (Terese) Roth, Wendy (Shaun) Weinfurter, Corey Roth, Debbie Carr, Betsy (Jim) Tschumper, Adam (Dena) Dorn, Heather (Adam) Hanson, Matthew (Carley) Dorn, Sarah (Joel) Musser, Nick and Kellie Frank, Jennifer (Adam) Kopecky and Josh, Jeremy and Jordan Geenen; 18 great-grandchildren, Austin Roth, Jackson, Ethan and Henry Roth, Molly and Alex Weinfurter, Coy and Dylan Carr, Kinsey and Katie Tschumper, Bryce Dorn, Emily, Weston, Abby and Katelyn Dorn, Ethan, Micah and Hannah Musser; sister, Dorothy (Eugene) Dorn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bernice Coenen, Eunice Brockman, Florence Woldt, Rosella Ernst, Donald (Mary Lou) Dorn, Joyce Dorn, Charlotte Koerner, Lawrence (Billie Jean) Dorn, Pat (Eric) Jack, Jerome (Marilyn) Dorn, Bea (Eugene) Otto. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Arnold and Joseph (Arlene) Coenen; four sisters, Antoinette (George) Reinke, Mary (Wilbert) Haberland, Rose (Norbert) Loerke, Angela (Jerry Cleveland and Basil) Kropidlowski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Esther Mae (John) Krull, Reginald Brockman, Harold Woldt, Rudolph Ernst, LaVerne Dorn, Daniel Dorn, Jack Koerner and Delores Dorn.
Funeral services for Loretta will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton, with the Rev. Tom Farrell officiating. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
