- Petronella M. Foster, "Nellie," 87, Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Sunday, July 19, 2009, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 8, 1921, in the town of Buchanan, daughter of the late Adrian and Minnie (DeGroot) Raymaker. Nellie married Gilbert Foster November 27, 1943, in Kimberly at Holy Name Catholic Church. She was employed at various supper clubs in the valley for many years.
Nellie is survived by her son, Gilbert Jr. (Kay) Denver, CO: her daughter, Linda (Joseph Van Berkel) Foster, Baraboo, WI; four grandchildren: Kim (Donald) Sudbrink, Mukwonago, WI; Tiffany Foster, Seattle, WA; Adrian Van Berkel, Madison, WI, Katie Van Berkel (special friend Jared Sears), Appleton, WI; great-grandchildren: Cheyanne and William; three sisters: Martha Leitermann, Kimberly; Janet Schuh, Kaukauna; Mary Klatt, Beaver Dam; two brothers: Albert Raymaker, Combined Locks and John (Doris) Raymaker, Combined Locks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert; sisters: Ann Helms and Frances Dambruch; brothers: Joseph, Bill, Jim and Peter Raymaker; brothers-in-law: Herbert Leitermann, Bob Dambruch, Robert Helms and Joseph Schuh; sister-in-law; Emaline Raymaker.
Funeral services for Nellie will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, (1810 N. McDonald St.) Appleton, with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may visit the family from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at church on Thursday. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly at 1:30 p.m.
The family wishes to thank Nellie's wonderful friends and neighbors for their love and support throughout the years, the dedicated staff at Appleton Medical Center, the kind, caring staff at Cherry Meadows and Father Falk for his spiritual guidance & friendship.
